The Dryanovo Monastery, encircled by high mountain peaks and steep limestone crags, lies only 4 km west from the town of Dryanovo. The old Dryanovo Monastery has its origin in the time of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. With the invasion of the Turks it was razed to the ground, then in the course of the years alternately rebuilt, destroyed and resurrected anew. The present Dryanovo Monastery dates back to 1845.
