Batoshevo Monastery frescosThe Batoshevski Monastery is situated near the village of Batoshevo on the left bank of Rositsa river. It was founded in XIII century under the reign of King Mihail II Asen.

During the Ottoman rule the Batoshevski Monastery was burned out, but at the time of the Bulgarian Revival restored.

At the times of the Aprilsko Rebellion the monastery became a shelter for many of the rebels.

Today the monastery is proclaimed a cultural monument and the iconostasis – of value for the Bulgarian art. The patron saint’s day is 15th of August.

The Batoshevski Monastery is 20 kilometers south from the town of Sevlievo.
