Sedemte Prestola MonasteryThe Sedemte Prestola Monastery or the Seven Altars Monastery is in the Sredna Stara Planina at a distance of 86 kilometers north from Sofia.

There is no exact information about the time of its formation, but it is considered that it was build during the period of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom.

According to some scientists, the name of the monastery comes from the interior of the church, where are seven thrones.

The Sedemte Prestola Monastery decayed at the time of the Ottoman rule, and later restored and became a cultural and religious centre.
